In 1994 Mathew Podd opened his own business trading as ExchangeShop and SL1210.com, After many years of working with his own sound equipment, Djing, installing and sound engineering top flight London Clubs, Mathew open a second hand business buying & selling DJ , PA , Home audio visual equipment , With the knowledge he had this was a great sucess. After a few years the company steered towards the sound & light side , aswell a hire Mathew had starting geting bar , pub and club installs so in 1996 he introduced the name Podd Sound. From then on we continued expanding our install,hire and retail, gaining valuable knowledge on the way we started getting reconised for our expertise and work.
1998: Podd Sound Limited was established in Apr 1998 by Mathew Podd
1999: in March Podd Sound opens its first DJ & PA Shop in Ewell Road Surbiton Surrey, We install our first London venue and worked with the Sugar Babes, Phats & Small, Jocelyn Brown , Many top flight DJs,
2000: We install our first flagship Nightclub Bar Eivissa in Kingston , Artists worked with Annie Lennox , List Millet , Pete Tong , Seb Fontane , Judge Jules , Alex P , Brandon Block and Jools Holland
2001: Podd Sound opens a second branch in Southsea Road Kingston for Live Sound Hire , Highlights include Byorn Again , Bootleg Beatles , Another Level . Private Parties for Virgin , Warehouse , Eurotunnel and BP
2002: Two major London club installs Elysium (Westend) & The Oval (Woodgreen).Podd Sound features in Martin Audio's edge press release, Night Magazine three times, Hk Audio press relaese.
2003: Three more major club installs The Penthouse , Red Bar , Shh Rooms. Podd Sound features again in Night Mag , Highlights include Robbie Williams Birthday, Guru Premiere, Goerge Clooney Birthday Bash, Chelsea FC xmas party, Mary Poppins Premiere
2004: Podd Sound purchase Surreys largest hire stock of Hk Audio, Highlights include Munch Private Party, Massive Attack , Masters at Work and Junior
2005: We merged both premises into one in Tolworth Surrey, installing our own live recording studio with vocal booth, a large warehouse , demo facilities and retail outlet
2006: Purchase of a Mobile Entertainment Vehicle ( Radio Roadshows etc ), We employed full time staff for our forever growing Hire stock , Highlights include First News Launch Party with Chicco, Liberty X. Fulltime contract as Radio Jackies Roadshow
2007: Podd Sound Closes its retail DJ Shop and continues with Hire,Sales & Installs in a big way, having its best year to date, we now employe full time staff for install and maintainence , Highlights include Jocelyn Brown , Jazzy Jeff , Alison Limerick , Dina Vass
2008: We have invested into a large range of QSC Audio products for Hire stock, This keeps us not only up to date with the latest mordern hire products but gives our customer greater flexability and choice when hiring. Highlights include installations in Savannas and Linekers Bar Ibiza, K Bar Athens, Cloud 9 and tribute acts tours. Invested in a Large Funktion One System in Nov
2009: Podd Sound moves office to a warehouse in High Street Surbiton and continues to go from strength to strength with the launch of the new QSC K series, Highlights includes 3 album launches for Sony Music ( KE$HA , Slayer ) , X factor Artists, Kim Mazelle, Mica Paris and Kele La Roc and the installation of Marylebone Sports Bar, Podd Sound purchase a small Meyer Sound System for corporate events.
2010: Podd Sound purchases a 12 box Qube Renkus Heinz Line Array . Highlights include 2 Sony Music Album Launches ( Arno Carstens) and the Installation of the Sports Bar Victoria, Brit Awards After Party.
